Computer Games

Last week's session was all about computer games. We were based in the media suite and played games. We played on the Wii - hula hooping and balancing. We had a go at the horseriding game on the XBox Connect, which was really cool. The DS was a little frustrating as it didn't understand my voice or my handwriting so kept giving me wrong answers when I was in fact right!!! Not that I'm bitter.

Prince of Persia looked like it would be a good game, but I couldn't quite hear the narrative so didn't really know what I was supposed to be doing. Still all in all it was a good session and has made me want to dust down the Wii at home and get on with my hula hooping!!

End of Reading Week!!!

Reading Week has just about finished, but I've managed to do quite a bit of work, as well as enjoy myself in Center Parcs with the kids and hubby, so it was a lot of fun. My printer has run out of ink so I can't print off anything that I've done, will have to do it in the library tomorrow. Also, I've forgotten to put one of my references in my reference list and have already taken the book back to the library, so will have to do that tomorrow as well. However, now it is time for wine!!! Hurrray!

ICT Today

I've just quickly stuffed a toffee cake at the back of the IT room (and yes, I did have breakfast!!!) but I needed a sugar rush.

We're doing 'gaming' again today. Gwyn is just about to attempt the 'apple game'. I bet it's not going to be as good as 'two-man frogger' - an old favourite of mine.

Tuesday's Debate

We've just had a very difficult maths lecture, all about prime numbers and the Fibonnaci code, which was very difficult indeed (for me anyway!!).

Now we are about to start our debate on whether computer games should be used in education or not.

We've now just had our debate which was quite eventful. Our team was debating for the "Yes - They Should be Used in Schools" - which we did win. It was very stressful however.

Weekend

Hello, I had a very busy weekend with the kids. Carys has managed to convince us that she does perhaps need a DS. Steff & I were determined that she was going to have to wait until she was a bit older but having seen her write her name and draw pictures I think that she is now ready. I've chatted with Mandy today in ICT and she has pointed out the value of some of these games.

Year 2 - Term 2

I'm finally getting stuck in to my second year. Juggling family life and Uni life still takes quite a lot of planning and organisation, but with a lot of help from my family I can usually get around it.

I'm starting the Young Reading Dragons tomorrow and although I am a little apprehensive, I am really looking forward to it. I've been to the library in Port Talbot and have selected the books that I am going to read with the children.

Unfortunately, I can no longer attend the BETT trip to London this Thursday & Friday, which I am very disappointed about but hopefully there will be another one in the future that I can go on.

Back To It!!!

Well Christmas is over, another new term & I'm already excited about the summer.
